My story is PAF to Family Origins (maybe version 6 or 7, can't remember for sure) to RM (all versions 1 through 7). FH is getting ready to release their next version with direct import from RM7 and RM8, so I’m going to be a beta tester for that. Do I stay with RM or convert to FH? I’m not sure either way. At least RM doesn’t release yearly upgrades you are expected to buy, like FTM. There are a few things that would make using it easier, but those have all been discussed in this forum. Up to RM7, I’m generally pleased with the product. The product changed hands several times while I was using it and I got tired of their shenanigans. The conversion was fairly straightforward, but my database was rather small, lacking in a lot of sources, notes, etc. FTM under Windows, which I can remember them calling it FTW, so maybe I had a DOS version, too. ![]() ![]() At the time a great program, but honestly there wasn’t much competition then. Just curious, and probably not relevant to anything, but with all the grumbling about RM, what paths did we take to end up with RM? For me, it was only a couple of hops.
